Bingo Etiquette - Sponsored by Fun Time Bingo
When you sit down for a session of bingo, you're meeting neighbors that you'll have to live with for a while. Whether you personally enjoy the social dimensions of bingo or are in it primarily to win, you should respect the players around you and allow them to enjoy the atmosphere and camaraderie. So, think of a bingo game as a cultural microcosm and play by the unwritten rules.
Some players have favorite spots or like to have a lot "" of room. Don't insist on taking over your "territory" or on asserting your rights to "territory" staked by someone else. The same goes for good luck charms, power colors, lucky rituals, and all other such beliefs: consideration and tolerance are the most important virtues around the tables. You may not take stock in such things, but you shouldn't be discourteous toward those who do believe. And if you're one of those believers, don't let your beliefs infringe on the rights of others.
Finally, if you should happen to win a game, congratulations! And please show proper consideration for all those around you. Nobody likes to lose, but we all feel better if we lose to someone who's gracious about winning.
Remember that bingo is a waiting game. As expectations build and stress levels rise, people can be easily distracted, even annoyed, by otherwise trivial things-especially players trying to keep track of as many as twenty cards! If you tend to hum, to drum your fingers on the table, to chew gum noisily, or to fidget, remember that the key to being a good neighbor is respect.
