2 - Bingo Glossary
Jackpot - The highest-paying bingo game, in which the caller draws only 48, 49, or 50 balls and the first player to fill all twenty-four squares wins. (Also known as coverall or blackout bingo.)
Masterboard - Apparatus in which the bingo operator places each ball drawn, after calling out the number (also called a rack).
No-number - A bingo game in which numbers are drawn and called until only one game card remains totally unmarked and wins the prize.
On - The number of bingo cards (also known as faces) on a sheet or a strip, e.g., a 3-on or a 6-on.
Rack - Apparatus in which the bingo operator places each ball drawn, after calling out the number (also called a masterboard).
Shutter card - A permanent, hard plastic bingo game card on which each square can be covered by a shutter that the player slides to mark each number as it is called.
Sleeper - A bingo player who suddenly realizes a number drawn earlier made him or her a winner.
Throwaway - A disposable paper bingo card.
Wait - A number that a player needs to complete the winning pattern in bingo. When a player needs two numbers to win, it's called a wait for a wait.
